Curriculum Development Coordinator
Job Overview: In collaboration with the Education Committee, the candidate will assist in the development of content for online formation for ministry with persons with disabilities. The coordinator would be someone who has the knowledge and time to articulate the content in writing and compile the corresponding resources. The result of the collaboration would be content for one 5-week intensive course, including 5 student assignments, essential readings, and an assessment tool.
An ideal candidate might be… someone who has experience with disability, knowledge of the Church’s teachings on disability, experience writing content pertaining to pastoral ministry, or Catechesis, is in a graduate theology program, or has a Catholic school background.
Compensation: commensurate with candidate’s experience
Timeline: Completion of one course by the end of December 1, 2021.
Responsibilities:
- Outlining in written form basic content for individual lessons on each given topic.
- Gathering (with the help of the Education Committee) appropriate supporting material.
- Reporting at committee meetings and submitting in writing a draft of the course content for review by Education Committee on September 13, October 11 and November 15.
Time Requirements:
- Approximately 60-80 hours of work over the course of three months. Pay commensurate with candidate’s experience.
Skills/Experience Needed:
- Educational background in theology
- Familiarity with and dedication to the mission and work of NCPD
- Experience developing content around disability issues
- Experience with editing based on review from the committee
- Ability to express ideas in writing clearly and concisely
- Curriculum design experience would be ideal
- Ability to effectively pursue needed information and resources from Committee Members or other recommended individuals
Support the Education Committee Can Provide:
- Overall framework: including basic scope and sequence, and topics
- Meeting time, either as a committee or individually
- Providing/gathering specific resources as requested by coordinator
- Feedback on drafts
