"I still have patients that were “routinely” given a screening test, and they received an adverse level, and were then told they needed to do an invasive procedure to confirm the screening test. Moms want to take care of their unborn children, they want to make sure they are healthy. A test that doesn’t jeopardize the wellbeing of their child is often accepted. However, in a significant percentage, the realties of what the answer from the screening test give are not thought through."
