Description

This webinar viewed through the eyes of those experienced in ministering with Catholics with mental illnesses, what it is like for one of their brothers and sisters in Christ to come to the parish for spiritual, social and sacramental access; as well as what it is like to provide ministry and supports to them and their families.  The topics of inclusion in faith formation and R.C.I.A. were also covered. 

Target Audience

Directors of disability ministry, parish advocates, catechists and teachers, liturgists, parish and diocesan catechetical leaders, pastoral personnel, pro-life, family life, chaplains, clergy, seminarians, consumers and family members, organizational and ecumenical partners.

Connie Rakitan, Co-chair and co-founder (with Deacon Tom Lambert) of the Archdiocese of Chicago Commission on Mental Illness and Faith and Fellowship; and Fr. Bob Malloy, Chaplain and staff at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Detroit, MI.  Moderator: Deacon Tom Lambert, Co-chair and co-founder (with Connie Rakitan) of the Archdiocese of Chicago Commission on Mental Illness and Faith and Fellowship.  Connie, Fr. Bob and Tom are all members of the National Catholic Partnership on Disability Mental Illness Council and have been recognized nationally for their work in the field.
